The research concerned an attempt at the assessment of the hardware safety of chaotic generators applied in cryptographic circuits. As part of the work, new, formerly unknown Hardware Trojan models successfully weakening the level of safety based on chaotic generators have been developed. As a solution to this problem, there has been a suggestion of a concept of a new class of chaotic generator characterized by a strengthened resistance to the impact of hardware Trojans which may potentially be integrated with cryptographic systems by electronics manufacturers or unauthorized external entities.

The Ph.D. thesis was completed as part of a doctoral program, in which the Council of the Faculty of Computer Science at Poznan University of Technology for the first time appointed a foreign scientist as the main supervisor.
