Simply put, constructive induction (CI) is the process of finding a good way of describing objects in order to classify them. CI systems rely on some given attributes (properties) of objects and then modify them, discard or build new features from the existing ones. Thus a new representation is created, which hopefully allows for a better discrimination of objects than the original one.
