We have a great pleasure to invite you to the GHOST Special Session on Machine Learning Methods for Web Applications Security, which will be held by Andrzej Prałat. Andrzej is currently a Machine Learning Engineer at Grey Wizard, a Poznań-based startup which uses artificial intelligence to quickly detect and respond to the new kinds of cyber threats. Before starting his adventure with cybersecurity, he took part in numerous data science projects and sucessfully participated in many machine learning competitions.
Computer and communication systems are subject to repeated security attacks. Given the variety of new vulnerabilities discovered every day, the introduction of new attack schemes, and the ever-expanding use of the Internet, it is not surprising that the field of computer and network security has grown and evolved significantly in recent years. Changes in the type of attacks and continuous identification of new vulnerabilities have resulted in a highly dynamic threat landscape that is unamenable to traditional security approaches. Data mining techniques that explore data in order to discover hidden patterns and develop predictive models, have proven to be effective in tackling the aforementioned information security challenges.During the session, we will learn about novel machine learning methods in cybersecurity and we will discuss new challenges for data science in this area. Free coffee and biscuits guaranteed ;) 20 November 2017 15:30
