GHOST Day: Applied Machine Learning Conference 2020

This year I coorganize virtual "GHOST Day: Applied Machine Learning Conference" which aims in creating an outstanding space for exchanging experiences between machine learning practitioners and, most importantly, a friendly environment for updating knowledge in the rapidly changing area of data analysis. Among keynote speakers are researchers from Google DeepMind, Facebook AI Reserach and IBM Research.

Multi-imbalance - open source Python toolbox for multi-class imbalance classification

Check out our package for multi-class imbalanced problems, coded in Python.

Rector's award for the best academic teachers

I received Rector's award for didactic achievements with the most talented students working in GHOST group.

GHOST Day: Applied Machine Learning Conference

I coorganize "GHOST Day: Applied Machine Learning Conference" which aims in creating an outstanding space for exchanging experiences between machine learning practitioners and, most importantly, a friendly environment for updating knowledge in the rapidly changing area of data analysis. To this end, conference speakers will include several recognized representatives of the scientific community publishing at top-tier global conferences such as NeurIPS or ICML and numerous experts from companies constructing ML-based products such as Intel, IBM, Allegro or Pearson.

Rector's awards for the best academic teachers

I received two Rector's awards for didactic achievements. One award (together with Wojciech Kotłowski and Michał Kempka) for the creation of a new undergraduate course "Convex Optimization" (pol. Optymalizacja Ciągła) and one for didactic achievements with the most talented students.

100% of students evaluated my teaching as "Outstanding" :)

In the official SET study of the Faculty of Computing, 100% of students evaluated my teaching in the summer 2017 as "Outstanding". 91% of students thinks that my classes are exceptionally clear and understandable (9% that they are very clear :). Furthermore, my labs in Statistical Data Analysis were classified at least as "very good" by each participant. Thank you!

GHOST officially recognized as a PUT scientific circle

Machine learning club which I founded together with my students is now officially recognized as a university scientific circle. GHOST (Group of Horribly Optimistic STatisticians) gathers together students interested in fundamental aspects of machine learning and data analysis. If you would like to join us, please check out our website: ghost.put.poznan.pl.
